Roxborough Memorial Hospital, others allegedly fired 79-year-old man because of his age

PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing his former employers, Prime Healthcare Services - Roxborough LLC d/b/a Roxborough Memorial Hospital, Prime Healthcare Services - Lower Bucks LLC d/b/a Lower Bucks Hospital and Prime Healthcare Inc., for alleged age discrimination and wrongful termination.

Joel Trachtenberg filed a complaint on April 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that the defendants fired him because of his age and then replaced him with a much younger person. The plaintiff allegedly was 79 years old at the time. As a result of the defendants' alleged actions, the plaintiff claims that he has suffered financial damages, emotional distress, embarrassment, humiliation and the loss of self-esteem. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and liquidated damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorneys' fees and any other just and proper relief. He is represented by Sidney L. Gold and Traci M. Greenberg of Sidney L. Gold & Associates PC in Philadelphia.
