PITTSBURGH — Two individuals are suing Dr. Ernest P. Jones, Dr. Robert R. Coll, Dr. Richard G. Williams and Penn Highlands Clearfield Hospital for alleged medical malpractice.

Steven and Sharon Jackson filed a complaint on April 23 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants failed to exercise the highest degree of care, learning and skill required of health care providers.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that the defendants treated Steven Jackson for the injuries that he allegedly sustained in an automobile accident. As a result of the defendants' alleged negligence, Steven Jackson's spinal cord injury and neurologic condition worsened, which allegedly caused him to experience left-sided weakness, decreased mobility and increased pain.

The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to accurately read Steven Jackson's cervical CT scan and timely and properly diagnose, treat and manage his medical condition.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $75,000, plus interest, costs and any other just and appropriate relief. They are represented by George R. Farneth II of the Farneth Law Group LLC in Greensburg.
