Metropolitan Life Insurance accused of wrongfully denying disability benefits

HARRISBURG — An individual is suing Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., Tyco Electronics Corporation and Tyco Electronics Long Term Disability Plan, citing alleged wrongful termination of long-term disability benefits.

Brendan Roden-Reynolds filed a complaint on April 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act. 

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that his disability benefits were wrongfully terminated in 2016. As a result, he claims that he has suffered financial damages. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly wrongfully denying his long-term disability claim.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid benefits in the amount of $50,232 and an additional $1,695 per month through the age cessation date, plus interest, costs, attorney's fees and any other just and proper relief. He is represented by Elliot A. Strokoff of Strokoff & Cowden PC in Harrisburg.
