PITTSBURGH — An individual is suing Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company for alleged breach of contract.
Tammy Horvath filed a complaint on April 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant violated its duties of good faith and fair dealing.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that her insured son was murdered. As a result, the plaintiff claims that she filed a life insurance claim, but the defendants allegedly failed to timely and properly investigate, evaluate and settle the claim.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds $80,000, plus interest, litigation costs, fees, expenses and any other just and proper relief. She is represented by Douglas J. Olcott of Bordas & Bordas PLLC in Pittsburgh.
