North Central Organized Regionally for Total Health allegedly fired woman because of her pregnancy

Wrongful term 12

PHILADELPHIA — An individual is suing her former employer, North Central Organized Regionally for Total Health Inc., for alleged wrongful termination.

Lakausha Williams filed a complaint on April 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant violated the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she took FMLA-protected leave because of her pregnancy. She claims that the defendant told her that her job would be safe while she was on leave. However, the defendant later told her that she had been terminated because there was no longer any room for her at the company. As a result, she claims that she has suffered financial damages, emotional distress, humiliation and pain.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount that exceeds $150,000, plus interest, attorney's fees, costs and any other proper and equitable relief. She is represented by Graham F. Baird of Law Offices of Eric A. Shore PC in Philadelphia.
