Dollar General customer blames store for fall in icy parking lot

Slip02

MEDIA — A customer is suing Family Dollar Stores of Pennsylvania LLC and Dolgencorp LLC, citing alleged negligence.

William Logan filed a complaint June 14 in Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, alleging that the defendants breached their duties to keep the premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, Logan was injured on Jan. 7, 2017 when he allegedly slipped and fell because of an accumulation of ice and/or snow in the parking lot of the defendants' store in Chester City.

The plaintiff claims he suffered severe and serious injuries to his nerves and nervous system, lost wages, pain and mental anguish and incurred medical expenses related to the accident.

Logan said the defendants allegedly failed to salt the store's parking lot, resulting in the melting and re-freezing of snow that formed into ice, and failed to warn customers of the existing danger.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount of not less than $50,000, plus costs and other just and proper relief. He is represented by Matthew Stone of The Law Offices of Stone & Stone LLC in Brookhaven.
