HARRISBURG — A New York resident is suing Camelback Resort LLC and other business operators, citing alleged negligence.

Cherrett Coley filed a complaint June 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants failed to provide a safe environment for its guests.

According to the complaint, Coley was at Camelback's water park on July 3, 2016 when a deck on the property splintered, allegedly causing her to suffer punctures and lacerations to her right foot and infection, which required surgery. The plaintiff said the alleged incident also caused embarrassment, depression and humiliation, scarring and loss of earnings.

Coley said the defendants allegedly failed to maintain the deck in a safe condition, failed to properly inspect the deck and warn her that it was dangerous and failed to barricade portions of the deck known to be in need of repair.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against the defendants for compensatory damages in an amount in excess of $75,000. She is represented by Steven Gitman of Steven D. Gitman LLC in Narberth, Pennsylvania.
