Guest blames Kimpton Hotel employee for injuries

Law money 10

PHILADELPHIA — A guest is suing Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant Group LLC, doing business as Kimpton Hotel Monaco Alexandria, citing alleged negligence.

Allison McKay filed a complaint June 21 in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, alleging that Kimpton failed to properly train and supervise its employees.

According to the complaint, McKay was injured on June 5, 2016 when a hotel employee allegedly opened the room's bathroom door directly into her body, causing her to fall. The plaintiff claimed that she suffered serious and permanent injuries to her right arm, right side, right hip, back, buttocks and right leg.

McKay said Kimpton should be held responsible because the employee allegedly failed to give any warning or indication of her presence and forcefully opened the bathroom door without warning.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount in excess of $50,000, plus interest, costs and attorney's fees. She is represented by Jeffrey Schmidt of Rovner, Allen, Rovner, Zimmerman & Nash in Feasterville.
