Daughter blames doctors, Han Trauma, Crozer Chester for mother's death

Medical malpractice 01

PHILADELPHIA — A daughter and estate executrix is suing Dr. Kristina Burns and numerous other medical care providers, including Han Trauma Center and Crozer Chester Medical Center, citing alleged professional liability.

Victoria Fitzpatrick, executrix of the estate of the late Marie Krupa, filed a complaint June 27 in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas, alleging that the defendants failed to adequately and timely diagnose Marie Krupa's medical condition.

According to the complaint, the defendants provided medical care to Marie Krupa beginning on Oct. 13, 2016, and, as a result of their alleged negligence, she suffered from sepsis, respiratory failure, acute renal failure, pleural effusions and a urinary tract infection, all of which contributed to her death on Oct. 25, 2016.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against the defendants, jointly and severally in an amount in excess of $50,000 and other proper relief. She is represented by Joseph Messa Jr. and Justin Groen of Messa & Associates PC in Philadelphia.
