SCRANTON — A property owner is suing M.J. Cordaro Electric Co. Inc. and contractor Robert Woytach, citing alleged negligence.

Patricia McAllister filed a complaint June 18 in the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas, claiming the defendants failed to exercise reasonable care in performing their duties.

According to the complaint, McAllister's residence was damaged on June 4, 2017 after the defendants allegedly installed temporary lighting that caught fire.

The plaintiff claims her real and personal property were damaged and she incurred more than $50,000 in expenses as a result of the defendants' alleged negligence.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against the defendants, jointly and severally, in an amount exceeding $50,000, as well as other appropriate relief. She is represented by Richard Boyd Jr. of de Luca Levine LLC in Blue Bell.
