PHILADELPHIA — A customer is suing property operators Airport Associates LP., Goodman Airport GP LLC and Pineville Allentown Inc., citing alleged negligence.
Janira Girald filed a complaint July 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants failed to maintain their property in a safe condition.
According to the complaint, Girald was in the parking lot of the Shoppes at Airport Center in Allentown on Jan. 18 when she slipped and fell on ice that had accumulated in the lot. The plaintiff claims the fall resulted in a broken ankle, physical impairment, loss of earnings, pain, suffering, embarrassment and inconvenience.
The plaintiff said the defendants allegedly failed to warn customers of the dangerous condition and failed to properly inspect inspect and address the problem.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment for damages in excess of $150,000, together with interest, attorney's fees, costs of the lawsuit and any other relief the court deems proper. She is represented by Leonard Hill and David Maselli of Hill & Associates in Philadelphia.
