SCRANTON — A consumer is suing Synchrony Bank, Allied Interstate LLC and Global Receivables Solutions Inc., citing alleged nuisance and invasion of privacy.

Anthony Deriso filed a complaint July 5 in Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas, alleging that the defendants violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the defendants allegedly intruded upon the plaintiff's seclusion and trespassed and interfered with his cellular telephone rights by making calls using either an automated or pre-recorded voice message without Deriso's consent.

The plaintiff seeks damages of $500 to $1,500 for each call made, plus costs and other proper relief. He is represented by Brett Freeman of Sabatini Freeman LLC in Dunmore, Pennsylvania.
