PHILADELPHIA — A legal service provider is suing Medical Informatics Engineering Inc., an Indiana corporation, citing alleged breach of written engagement and unjust enrichment.
Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith LLP filed a complaint on July 25, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Medical Informatics Engineering Inc. alleging that the Indiana corporation failed to perform its contractual obligations.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in May 28, 2015, the plaintiff agreed to perform legal services to defendant for a fee. Throughout the course of their relationship, the defendant received several payments from various insurance carriers.
To date, the total past due indebtedness owed by defendant is $170,218.21, the suit says. The plaintiff holds Medical Informatics Engineering Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed and refused to pay plaintiff's legal representation of defendant.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in the amount of $170,218.21, attorney's fees, costs, interest and such other just and necessary reief. It is represented by its own lawyer, Lee J. Janiczek.
