PITTSBURGH — A patient is suing Dominic Brandy, M.D., and the Center for Cosmetic Surgery, doing business as The Skin Center, for alleged negligence.

Lisa Platt filed a complaint on July 13, in the Allegheny County Courts of Common Pleas, against the defendants alleging that they failed to live up to the standard of care of cosmetic service providers.

Dr. Brandy attempted to perform an arm lift and fat transfer surgery on July 13, 2017, on Platt, according to the complaint. As a result of defendants' negligence, she suffered serious injuries resulting in pain, nerve damage, stretch marks and permanent scarring.

The plaintiff holds Dominic Brandy, M.D., and the Center for Cosmetic Surgery responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide proper medical services, care and attention and failed to inform her that the procedure could result in a cosmetically unacceptable appearance.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants, jointly and severally, in an amount in excess of the compulsory arbitration limits of the court, plus costs and such other appropriate relief. She is represented by Noah Paul Fardo, William F. Rogel and Jaclyn M. DiPaola of Flaherty Fardo LLC in Pittsburgh.
