PITTSBURGH — Two property owners are suing the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority, citing alleged negligence.

Laura Harwin and Wesley Oliver filed a complaint July 12 in the Allegheny County Courts of Common Pleas, alleging that the agency failed to maintain the its water system in a safe and/or stable condition.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 16, water began to leak in a steady stream onto and through the plaintiffs' property located in Pittsburgh.

As a result of the defendant's alleged failure to address the system leak or land movement on their property, the plaintiffs claim their property and personal possessions have been damaged and/or destroyed.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek a judgment in an amount in excess of $35,000, plus costs and an order requiring the defendant to repair the water system and fix the property. They are represented by Matthew Kurzweg of Kurzweg Law Offices in Pittsburgh.
