Dinsmore & Shohl LLP issued the following announcement on Aug. 9.

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP has bolstered its presence in Pittsburgh with the addition of Nelson Crichton to the firm. A partner in the commercial finance and banking group, Crichton is a top-ranked banking attorney who will expand Dinsmore’s services in the Steel City.

Crichton focuses his practice on representing both borrowers and lenders (senior and mezzanine) in a wide variety of financing transactions covering a range of industries, including manufacturing, healthcare, construction, real estate development, aerospace, maritime, agricultural, financial services

and transportation. In addition to his banking practice, Nelson also has experience representing both franchisees and franchisors in several industries in matters involving corporate formation, negotiation of franchise and development agreements, and regulatory compliance.

“Having an attorney of Nelson’s caliber join our office reflects our commitment to be a recognized leader in service offerings and client satisfaction in the Pittsburgh legal market,” said Anthony Ditka, Pittsburgh office managing partner. “Nelson brings a significant boost to the momentum we’ve been building and will be a valuable addition to our corporate practice.”

Prior to joining Dinsmore, Crichton was a banking attorney at Metz Lewis Brodman Must O'Keefe LLC. He is one of the top-rated banking attorneys in Pittsburgh, according to SuperLawyers.

The addition of Crichton brings Dinsmore’s headcount to nearly 60 attorneys and staff in Pittsburgh. Earlier this year, the firm relocated to PPG Place Building Six to accommodate its continued growth.

“I’m excited to join a firm as well-respected as Dinsmore,” said Crichton. “Dinsmore’s plan for growth gives us increased visibility in Pittsburgh and opportunities to better serve our clients.”

Crichton holds a B.A. from The Ohio State University.
