PHILADELPHIA — A patron is seeking more than $50,000 in damages from the United Skates of America Inc. and Millenium Skate World after allegedly suffering injuries.
Rakai Edwards filed a complaint on Aug. 14, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, against the defendants alleging that they failed to exercise reasonable care to protect their patrons.
Edwards alleges that on July 14, 2016, she was a patron at Millenium Skate World in Camden, New Jersey, when she allegedly tripped and fall.
She suffered severe injuries to her left ankle, left foot, limbs, tissues and internal organ. The plaintiff holds United Skates of America Inc. and Millenium Skate World responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to provide a safe means of ingress and egress through the property and failed to give adequate warning of the dangerous condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus interest, costs, and attorney's fees. She is represented by Steven M. Lipschutz of Lipschutz & Friedman in Philadelphia.
