PITTSBURGH — A woman is suing an Allegheny County resident, claiming that he struck her with a coffee table that she had purchased from his girlfriend.

Yun Meng filed a complaint on Sept. 4, in the Court of Common Pleas, Allegheny County against Xingjian Zhou, alleging that he hit her with a coffee table.

The plaintiff alleges that, on Aug. 11, she was struck by the defendant with a coffee table she claims to have purchased from the defendant's girlfriend. She allegedly suffered injuries that included a concussion, post-concussive syndrome, reactive depression and suicidal thoughts.

The plaintiff holds Xingjian Zhou responsible, because the defendant allegedly intentionally interfered with her lawful possession of the coffee table by removing it from her residence without permission and allegedly used it to harm her.

The plaintiff seeks an amount in excess of $35,000, the applicable arbitration limits on punitive damages, interests, and costs. She is represented by Joseph D. Pometto in Pittsburgh.
