MEDIA — State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. filed a complaint on Sept. 11, in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, against LG Electronics USA Inc., alleging that the appliances manufacturer negligently sold defective dishwashers.

The plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 22, 2017, plaintiff's insured' properties suffered substantial damage when defendant's dishwasher caught fire. The plaintiff paid $147,591.73 for the damages caused by fire to Vincent Mollicella's property and $76,096.15 for Dennis McLaughlin's property.

The plaintiff holds LG Electronics USA Inc. responsible, because the defendant allegedly failed to properly design and manufacture safe dishwashers and failed to give adequate warning of the defective and dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of not less than $223,687.88, with interest, costs and other just and proper relief. It is represented by Michael D. O'Connor of Cozen O'Connor in Philadelphia.
