Morgan Lewis Bockius LLP issued the following announcement on Sept. 24.

“It has been a privilege to serve as the Chair of our firm over the past several years, and I am excited to have the opportunity to continue to lead our organization,” said Ms. McKeon. “During my 37 years at Morgan Lewis, I have been lucky to have the best of colleagues and the best of clients. I am proud of the things we have accomplished together and optimistic about what we will continue to accomplish in the future.”

“We are delighted that Morgan Lewis will benefit from Jami’s inspiring, steady leadership for another five years,” said Andy Lipman, lead member of the firm’s Advisory Board and head of the telecommunications, media, and technology practice. “Her relentless focus on anticipating and meeting client needs will continue to be our guiding star as we make strategic investments in practice development and human capital.”

Ms. McKeon, who began her career with Morgan Lewis in 1981, has held various management positions at the firm. Immediately prior to assuming the position of Chair on October 1, 2014, she led Morgan Lewis’s litigation practice, the firm’s largest group. As the leader of one of the biggest law firms in the United States and one of the few women heading a global law firm, Ms. McKeon oversees the work of 2,000 lawyers across 30 offices. She is an accomplished trial lawyer and advises clients in high-stakes crisis litigation and regulatory investigations, focusing on the financial services and technology industries.

Soon after her first election as Chair, Morgan Lewis underwent a historic transformation when it welcomed more than 750 lawyers and professional staff from Bingham McCutchen. Since then, Morgan Lewis has continued to expand globally, with a particular focus on Asia highlighted by the establishment of a major hub in Singapore and the opening or expansion of offices in Hong Kong, China, and Japan. The firm’s careful growth is a direct result of her commitment to delivering the best possible services in the sectors and regions our clients do business.
