PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia resident is suing Aerotek Inc, a recruiting company, citing alleged breach of contract and retaliation.
Miranda A. Henderson filed a complaint on Sept. 14, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, against Aerotek alleging that the recruiting company failed to promptly and helpfully respond to Henderson’s repeated communications seeking help securing new employment.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she began working at Ballymore in November 2016, after being placed there by Aerotek. She was terminated in May 2017, after allegedly making complaints of racial discrimination.
Aerotek allegedly retaliated against Henderson by mostly ignoring her repeated requests to help her find another job. The plaintiff holds Aerotek responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to regularly contact her to determine whether she was interested in newly available or open positions, failed to actively attempt to secure employment for her and failed to reliably and promptly respond to her communications about securing employment after Henderson complained about race discrimination at Ballymore.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, back pay, front pay, attorneys’ fees plus costs, contractual damages, including consequential damages, pay loss, interest and such other relief as the court deems proper.
She is represented by Scott M. Pollins and Tashell J. Jenkins of Pollins Law in Wayne.
