PITTSBURGH — A billboard operator is suing Energy Transfer Partners LP, Sunuco LP and Tablerock Land Services LLC, pipeline installers, citing alleged negligence.

Lamar Advantage GP Co. LLC filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the Allegheny County Courts of Common Pleas against the defendants, alleging they failed to comply with the Underground Utility Line Protection Law.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 31, 2017, the defendants damaged several utility poles and severed an electrical line that provided electrical service to the plaintiff's billboard in Canonsburg. The plaintiff suffered damages in excess of $35,000 to repair the damage to the property and in lost revenue during the time the billboards were inoperable, the suit says.

The plaintiff holds Energy Transfer Partners LP, Sunuco LP and Tablerock Land Services LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to take reasonable care not to damage utility poles and underground utilities and refused to reimburse plaintiff for its damages.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount exceeding $35,000, plus costs, expenses and all other just and proper relief. He is represented by Jonathan Kamin and David DelGreco of Goldberg, Kamin & Garvin LLP in Pittsburgh.
