PHILADELPHIA — A practice administrator is suing Reading Pediatrics Inc., a professional corporation, citing alleged age discrimination and wrongful termination.

Robert Stauffer filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Reading Pediatrics Inc., alleging the professional corporation violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 25 he was advised by the defendant that he was being terminated from his employment and that they expected him to work for two more weeks to train his replacement. He says he has suffered lost wages and employment benefits and emotional distress.

The plaintiff holds Reading Pediatrics Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly terminated his employment and replaced him with a substantially younger and less-qualified employee.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $150,000, plus interest, liquidated damages, attorney's fees, costs and such other just and appropriate relief. He is represented by Andrew Abramson of Abramson Employment Law LLC in Blue Bell.

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Case No. is 5:18-cv-04175-EGS.
