Dechert LLP issued the following announcement on Oct. 26.
Dechert has achieved its highest-ever ranking in the 2018 edition of Global Investigations Review’s “GIR 30”, published Oct. 26. GIR references “Dechert’s impressive investigations practice” and states that “Dechert has strong investigations teams on both sides of the Atlantic.” Twenty-two Dechert lawyers are mentioned across five offices, more than in any previous edition.
Dechert has been ranked on the GIR 30 for the last three years. It moved this year to 17th place, up from 21st in 2017.
GIR cited several hires that have further strengthened Dechert’s investigative practices. Roger A. Burlingame, a former high-ranking prosecutor for the U.S. Department of Justice, joined the firm’s London office in June and specializes in white collar criminal defense. David N. Kelley, former United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, joined Dechert’s New York office in 2017 and is co-chair of the firm’s White Collar and Securities Litigation group. Matthew Cowie, a former prosecutor in the Serious Fraud Office, joined Dechert’s London office in 2016 and has extensive experience advising on fraud and corruption issues.
