PITTSBURGH — A business invitee is suing Hair City Inc., citing alleged negligence.

Violet Sims filed a complaint in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against Hair City Inc. alleging that the property controller failed to ensure the safety of its invitees inside the premises.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 27, she was legally on defendant's Hair City Inc. premises in Monroeville when she was caused to trip and fall on the wheels of a clothing rack that was poorly placed near the entrance. She sustained serious and permanent injuries to her lower back, including disc protrusions, scrapes and lacerations, the suit says.

The plaintiff holds Hair City Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently created the dangerous condition by placing the clothing rack at or near the entrance door and failed to give adequate warning of the dangerous nature of the premises.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in her favor for a sum greater than $35,000, costs and all other relief deemed just. She is represented by Marc Simon, Jason Whalley, Ryan Flaherty, Amanda Nese, Jillian Corbett, Garth Gartin and Patrick Manning of Simon & Simon PC in Pittsburgh.
