PHILADELPHIA — A Brookhaven couple are suing Blane Sessions M.D., citing alleged medical negligence and battery.
Carolyn Farren and Joseph Farren filed a complaint on Nov. 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Sessions, alleging the medical care provider failed to advise and inform plaintiffs of the potential harm associated with wrist surgery.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Oct. 21, 2016, Carolyn Farren sought treatment from defendant for a right wrist injury. As a result of defendant's negligence, she continued to have persistent and worsening pain and has incurred substantial and unnecessary medical bills, the suit says.
Joseph Farren suffered loss of consortium and society of his wife. The plaintiffs hold Sessions responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently performed improper and unnecessary surgery on her right wrist and failed to properly diagnose and treat plaintiff's subsidence.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against defendant in an amount in excess of $150,000. They are represented by Thomas Sacchetta of Sacchetta & Baldino in Media.
The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Case No. is 2:18-cv-04793-JHS.
