PHILADELPHIA — A Caucasian female, recovering addict and a drug and alcohol counselor is suing Philadelphia Fight, Jane Shull, Akia Feggans, Tina Presbery, Jennifer Jones, and Barry Robinson, employer, and co-employees, citing alleged discrimination and retaliation.

Karin Sheibel filed a complaint on Nov. 7, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they discriminated plaintiff because of her race, color and disability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between 2015 and November 20, 2017, she has been subjected to discriminatory and retaliatory conduct by defendants and has been humiliated, embarrassed and emotionally distressed.

Allegedly, Scheibel was unlawfully terminated from her employment in retaliation for reporting defendants' conduct. The plaintiff holds Philadelphia Fight, Jane Shull, Akia Feggans, Tina Presbery, Jennifer Jones, and Barry Robinson responsible because the defendants allegedly constructively discharged plaintiff by making her work conditions abusive and intolerable.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount to be determined at the time of trial plus interest, punitive damages, liquidated damages, statutory damages, attorney's fees, costs, and other further relief the court deems just and proper. She is represented by Seth D. Carson of Derek Smith Law Group PLLC in Philadelphia.
