PHILADELPHIA — An airline employee is suing Premier Concrete Inc. and Paramount Building Solutions LLC, citing alleged failure to warn and negligence.
Antonio Barrera filed a complaint on Nov. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging they breached their duty to keep their premise free and clear of any unreasonable dangers or hazards.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 8 he was walking near Gate A3 of terminal A-Eas at Philadelphia International Airport when he slipped and fell due to ice on the ground. He suffered serious and permanent injuries, including a ruptured right quadriceps tendon requiring surgical repair and muscle and/or ligament sprains and strains, the suit says.
The plaintiff holds Premier Concrete Inc. and Paramount Building Solutions LLC responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently allowed the dangerous hazardous condition to occur or continue to exist at their premises and failed to provide adequate warning of the unreasonable dangerous condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages in an amount in excess of jurisdictional limits of the court, plus interest and all further relief that is just and appropriate. He is represented by Louis Silverman and John Trotman Jr. of Silverman Trotman & Schneider LLC in Philadelphia.
The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Case No. is 2:18-cv-04873-AB.
