ELLIOTT GREENLEAF: Senator Stewart J. Greenleaf Honored by Pennsylvania Bar Foundation and Pennsylvania Bar Association

Elliott Greenleaf issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.

On November 15, 2018, the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation and Pennsylvania Bar Association honored Senator Stewart Greenleaf for his “remarkable” forty years of public service, including his thirty years of leadership on the Senate Judiciary Committee. During his career, Senator Greenleaf passed more legislation than any other member of Pennsylvania’s general assembly, sponsoring 161 bills that were signed into law, co-sponsoring 327 other bills and initiating another 159 proposals that “became law through other measures or were accomplished administratively.”

Among Senator Greenleaf’s other significant accomplishments are: the Clean Indoor Air Act (banning smoking in most indoor spaces); passing Human Trafficking Litigation, Megan’s Law (monitoring violent sexual predators); legislation to permit child victims and witnesses to testify via closed circuit television; authorizing Pennsylvania’s Puppy Lemon Law and Animal Rights bill; promoting criminal justice reform and legislation providing for post-conviction DNA testing to enhance the integrity of the criminal justice system.

Senator Greenleaf’s distinguished career of effective and compassionate public service. was also recently recognized by the Montgomery Bar Association.
