MEDIA — An estate administrator is suing Newtown Square Assisted Living LLC and Sunrise Senior Living Management Inc., nursing home facility operators, citing alleged professional negligence.

Michael Wilks, as the administrator of the estate of Patricia Wilks, filed a complaint Nov. 19 in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas against Newtown Square Assisted Living LLC and Sunrise Senior Living Management Inc., alleging the nursing home facility operators failed to recognize plaintiff's condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in February 2009, Patricia Wilks became a resident of defendants' Sunrise facility. As a result of defendants' negligence, she sustained serious injuries that could have been avoided.

Decedent died on June 20. The plaintiff holds Newtown Square Assisted Living LLC and Sunrise Senior Living Management Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to revise the initial residential care plan and failed to intervene to reduce and/or minimize decedent's injuries.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus interest, costs and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by Gavin Lentz of Bochetto & Lentz PC in Philadelphia.
