PHILADELPHIA — An electrician is suing the National Railroad Passenger Corp., citing alleged unsafe work environment.
Keith Blanding filed a complaint on Dec. 10 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against National Railroad Passenger Corp., alleging it failed to provide a safe and proper work environment.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 17 he sustained serious injuries to his cervical spine, right shoulder, neck and right arm while in the course and scope of his employment with defendant. He has suffered a loss and impairment of earnings, great physical pain and mental anguish, the suit says.
The plaintiff holds the National Railroad Passenger Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide proper equipment and adequate assistance to perform the task.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendant in an amount greater than $150,000, together with fees and costs. He is represented by Michael Olley and Lawrence Katz of Coffey, Kaye, Myers & Olley in Bala Cynwid.
The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Case No. is 2:18-cv-05331-TJS.
