MONTGOMERY MCCRACKEN WALKER & RHOADS: Ernest D. Holtzheimer Elected Secretary and Treasurer of the Business Law Section and Treasurer of the Young Lawyers Division of the Philadelphia Bar Association

Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads issued the following announcement on Dec. 20.

Montgomery McCracken is pleased to announce Ernest D. Holtzheimer was elected Secretary and Treasurer of the Business Law Section and Treasurer of the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the Philadelphia Bar Association and will serve a one-year term (effective January 1, 2019). Holtzheimer presently serves on the Executive Committee for the Business Law Section and the YLD.

The mission of the Business Law Section is to offer business lawyers numerous educational opportunities across a broad range of substantive areas as well as opportunities to network with other attorneys sharing similar professional interests. The Section’s committees plan continuing legal education programs and keep their members up to date on current events in more than a dozen substantive areas.

The mission of the YLD is to promote the interests of young lawyers. The YLD Executive Committee manages and directs the business and activities of the YLD, which has more than 2,900 members. The YLD Executive Committee has oversight of 20 committees in the areas of public service, law-related education and service to the legal community. Throughout the year, members of the YLD are involved in numerous committees to develop programs that help children, the elderly, the disadvantaged, and many more.

Holtzheimer is an associate in the firm’s Business Department, where he provides transactional and business advisory services to assist clients, including individuals, mid-sized and emerging companies, multinational corporations, and investors on a wide variety of matters. As an active member of the emerging business and venture capital community, Holtzheimer serves on advisory boards for an institutional venture fund and an international angel investment group. He writes and speaks frequently on topics such as planning profitable exit strategies and obtaining angel and venture capital financing for early-stage companies. Holtzheimer also serves as an editor of Montgomery McCracken’s Private Business Counsel blog. In addition, he is a member of the firm’s Diversity Committee.

Holtzheimer received his J.D. degree, cum laude, from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, with a Business and Entrepreneurship Concentration. He earned an M.B.A. degree in Finance and B.S. degrees, cum laude, in Entrepreneurship and Business Management with a focus on International Studies, from Rowan University William G. Rohrer College of Business.
