PITTSBURGH — A business invitee is suing Sto-Rox Plaza Inc., an apartment complex owner, citing alleged negligence.
Barbara Freed filed a complaint on Jan. 15 in the Allegheny County Courts of Common Pleas against Sto-Rox Plaza Inc., alleging the apartment complex owner breached its duty to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 10, 2017, she was delivering medicine at defendant's apartment complex when she slipped and fell. She allegedly suffered serious injuries including but not limited to cervical strain and attendant extreme back pain that resulted in surgery, contusions to the head and lower extremity strain.
The plaintiff holds Sto-Rox Plaza Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently allowed ice and snow to accumulate on the sidewalks, entrances and exits on its premises.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court, costs and such other just and fair relief. She is represented by Elizabeth Chiappetta of Robert Pierce & Associates PC in Pittsburgh.
