PHILADELPHIA — A delivery man is suing the U.S. Postal Service and others, citing alleged negligence and premises liability.

Lamont Anderson filed a complaint on Jan. 17, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging they failed to provide safe walkways.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 15, 2017, he was making a delivery at the post office when he slipped, tripped and fell on an obstruction at defendant's premises. He allegedly sustained serious injuries to his left wrist, back and left ankle and was caused to suffer shock to the nervous system, mental anguish and pain and suffering.

The plaintiff says the defendants negligently allowed accumulation of snow and/or ice in its premises and failed to give adequate warning of the existing defective and unsafe condition in the area where plaintiff slipped.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, jointly and severally for a sum exceeding $75,000, with interest and costs. He is represented by Kenneth Saffren of Saffren & Weinberg in Jenkintown.

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Case No. is 2:19-cv-00262-TJS.
