PHILADELPHIA — A director of human resources is suing Desert NDT LLC and Shawcor Ltd., former employers, citing alleged discrimination and wrongful termination.
Nancy Polland filed a complaint on Jan. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging they violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 30, 2018, she was terminated from her employment. She allegedly suffered lost wages, benefits and bonuses, emotional distress, humiliation and loss of self esteem.
The plaintiff holds Desert NDT LLC and Shawcor Ltd. responsible because the defendants allegedly discriminated against her because of her age and gender, subjected her to a male-dominated hostile work environment, terminated her employment, and replaced her with a younger, less-qualified and less-experienced employee.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, attorney's fees, costs, expenses and any further relief as the court deems just and equitable. She is represented by Albert Michell of Albert J. Michell PC in Philadelphia.
The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania Case No. is 2:19-cv-00267-CFK.
