Dilworth Paxson LLP issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.
Dilworth Paxson LLP announced that attorney Neil Sklaroff has joined the firm, effective February 1, as a partner in the Zoning and Land Use and Real Estate practice groups. Sklaroff, who comes to Dilworth after seventeen years at Ballard Spahr where he most recently served as senior counsel, will be based in the firm’s Philadelphia headquarters.
Sklaroff’s practice focuses on zoning and land use matters, real estate development, administrative law, and real estate tax appeals. He counsels landowners on local, state, and federal historic preservation issues.
Sklaroff has represented businesses, developers, civic associations, individuals, and municipalities in land use matters before administrative bodies, commissions and agencies, as well as before state and federal trial and appellate courts. His representations have shaped some of the Philadelphia region's most notable high-rise residential condominium developments, museums, hospitals, universities, science centers, telecommunications providers, and retailers.
Dilworth’s Chairman and CEO, Ajay Raju, notes that Sklaroff’s joining the firm adds strength to its growing Zoning and Land Use practice, led by partner Darwin Beauvais. Sklaroff will also bring his depth and breadth of experience to the firm’s Real Estate, Litigation, and Corporate and Business practice areas. “Anyone who’s stepped outside and looked around in the past few years can see the incredibly dynamic pace and scope of development in our region,” said Raju. “Neil is recognized by all objective observers as an eminent statesman in his field, and with his energy, passion and command of the subject matter, he is the perfect addition to an already strong team guiding our real estate clients through this exciting and challenging landscape.”
Pursuing permits and other forms of land use approval for projects in the Delaware Valley region is an area in which Dilworth has achieved significant success by leveraging its vast expertise in navigating municipal hurdles for clients in routine and complex issues by knowledgeably interfacing with government agencies.
Sklaroff is a frequent author and lecturer on land use and litigation for the continuing education programs of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He is a current member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Philadelphia Bar Association, and Montgomery Bar Association.
