PITTSBURGH — A surviving son is suing Baptist Home Society, a nursing care facility, citing alleged corporate negligence, wrongful death and survival action.
Michael F. Fabus filed a complaint in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against Baptist Home Society, d/b/a Baptist Home, alleging the nursing care facility failed to provide adequate competent staff, equipment, supplies, and services to meet his mother's needs.
According to the complaint, between June 24, 2017 and July 21, 2017, Antoinette R. Fabus fell multiple times while she was resident of Baptist Home. Plaintiff states that she died from multiple blunt force trauma and ground level fall.
The plaintiff holds Baptist Home Society, d/b/a Baptist Home, responsible because the defendant allegedly knowingly disregarded resident's acuity levels and continued to accept residents that required more care and treatment than it could provide. Hence, it allegedly sacrificed the quality of care that was provided to Antoinette R. Fabus.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount in excess $35,000. He is represented by Geoffrey Brown and Tyler Smith of Bordas & Bordas PLLC in Pittsburgh.
