Civil lawsuit filed against Lancaster youth center worker in prison for sexual assault

PHILADELPHIA — A minor is seeking damages after she was allegedly sexually assaulted by a worker at a youth center.

A minor filed a complaint on Feb. 22 in the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against David T. Stevenson, Tonya Evans, Mark Kern, Drew Fredericks, Jasmine Torres, Jasmine Vargas, Lisa Rios, Ron Wilson, Tracy Kauffman, Aaron Wright, Christina Delgado, Thais Grant and Lancaster County.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages for an incident that took place when the plaintiff was a minor residing at the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center from May 2017 through July 2017. The suit claims the plaintiff was subjected to inappropriate behavior by Stevenson, who was sexually harassing her, and that in June 2017 he sexually assaulted her in a closet.

On June 20, 2018, Stevenson was sentenced in Lancaster County court to 10 to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to 20 counts and pleading no contest to eight counts related to the sexual assault of three minors.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Christopher Lyden in Lancaster.
