McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, in partnership with the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, will host a Business Breakfast Briefing at the Hilton Scranton & Conference Center on Friday, March 15, where McNees attorney Joe Sileo will present “What Employers Need to Know About I-9 Compliance.” The presentation runs from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., with complimentary breakfast and registration beginning at 7:30 a.m.
Joe, an experienced labor and employment attorney, will provide an overview of and practical guidance regarding when I-9s must be completed, how to properly complete and maintain I-9s, which documents are acceptable to confirm employee identity and work eligibility for I-9 purposes, when to purge/destroy I-9s pertaining to former employees, and how to conduct periodic internal I-9 audits and correct errors.
Joe regularly advises clients in employment-related issues, including wage and hour compliance, work performance management, discipline, equal opportunity and fair employment practices, hiring practices and termination decisions, litigation avoidance, employee leave issues, retaliation, non-compete and separation agreements, unemployment compensation, and also in connection with collective bargaining administration and arbitration matters.
