PITTSBURGH — A woman is suing a cord manufacturer, alleging that she was burned by a faulty cord.

Sydney Wenzel filed a complaint on March 14 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against King-Cord Inc.

The defendant sold power cords to the plaintiff's place of residence, the suit says. The plaintiff was allegedly sleeping in her bed on March 20, 2017, when she awoke to burns from the defendant's power cord that was lying on the bed, which caused the plaintiff to suffer serious burns to her leg.

The defendant is accused of negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Carl Schiffman of Schiffman Firm LLC.

The Allegheny County Court Case No. is GD-19-003678.
