PITTSBURGH — A community council is suing a number of officials, alleging they failed to ensure that landscaping standards remained high.

East Allegheny Community Council filed a complaint on March 6 in the Allegheny County Court against Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto and the Director of the Department of Permits, Licenses and Inspections Maura Kennedy.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff is seeking damages because several Pittsburgh businesses have been derelict in their promise and duty to keep their landscaping to a certain standard. The plaintiff seeks to ensure the defendants would make the necessary changes to the landscaping, but they have failed to do so.

The defendants are accused of breach in standard of duty and negligence.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Colin Miller.

The Allegheny County Court Case No. is 19-3204.
