LILLEbaby alleges Chicco child carrier infringes on patents

PHILADELPHIA – A baby carrier company alleges a Lancaster infant products manufacturer has infringed its patents.

LILLEbaby LLC filed a complaint on March 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Artsana-USA Inc., formerly known as Chicco USA Inc., alleging patent infringement.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff markets, promotes, advertises and sells LILLEbaby child carriers and is the owner of U.S. Patent No. 8,172,116, titled "Child Carrier Having Adaptive Leg Supports." The suit states the patent was issued in 2012 and the plaintiff also owns similar patents.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant's Chicco 3-Way Close to You products infringe its patents.

The plaintiff is seeking damages, attorney fees and court costs. It is represented by Mark A. Lockett and Daniel P. Lynch of Bonner, Kiernan, Trebach & Corciata LLP in Philadelphia.
