PHILADELPHIA – A Levittown couple are seeking damages from two companies for injuries the husband sustained while working at a Philadelphia construction project.

William Baxter and Tarra Baxter filed a complaint on April 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Skanska USA Building Inc. and Central Salvage Co. Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on June 8, 2017, William Baxter was working for Procure Construction Services Inc. on a construction project with the defendants. The suit states Central Salvage left a trash chute for Skanska's use at the project and as Skanska was disassembling it on the fourth floor of the building, a piece of wood fell from the chute and landed on the plaintiff, causing injury.

The plaintiffs allege William Baxter's injuries were caused by the defendants' negligence.

The plaintiffs are seeking more than $150,000 in damages, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiffs are represented by Scott A. Portner of Freedman & Lorry P.C. in Philadelphia.
