PHILADELPHIA – Four passengers are suing two airlines over allegations a plane's failure to properly pressurize caused them pain and injuries.

Della Taylor, Daniel Knight, Sara Knight and Beth Kohl filed a complaint on April 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against American Airlines Inc., and Piedmont Airlines Inc., doing business as American Eagle, alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs were paying passengers on defendants' Flight 4840 on Sept. 27, 2018, which departed from Harrisburg International Airport. The plaintiffs allege the plane's cabin failed to properly pressurize, causing the plaintiffs pain and discomfort. They allege some passengers experienced bleeding from their ears, noses and mouths.

The plaintiffs are seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. They are represented by Richard E. Genter of the Law Office of Richard E. Genter in Jenkintown.
