Blue States alleges Duquesne owes more than $48,000 for city manager services

PITTSBURGH – A Pittsburgh man alleges he and his company were not paid after their contract was terminated by the city of Duquesne.

Blue States LLC and Che Sayles filed a complaint on May 17 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against the city of Duquesne citing the Wage Payment and Collection Law.

According to the complaint, Blue States was retained by the defendant to serve as city manager from Jan. 3, 2018, to Jan. 3, 2020 for a yearly salary of $60,000 per year. The plaintiffs allege they performed their services but their contract was terminated in March 2019. 

The plaintiffs allege they provided the defendant with an invoice on April 1 and April 15 but the defendant failed to pay the amount due. The plaintiffs allege they are owed $48,465.

The plaintiffs are seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiffs are represented by David M. Kobylinski of Kobylinski & Kobilinski + Kobilinski in Pittsburgh.
