Archer & Greiner, PC. issued the following announcement on June 5.
Archer is pleased to welcome our 2019 Summer Associates. This year’s summer class includes eight students from various law schools. Archer’s Summer Associate Program provides a wide range of opportunities for accomplished law students to gain real world experience working with attorneys, staff and clients, as well as the opportunity to socialize with many of the firm’s lawyers, professionals and staff. The Associates will travel to all of Archer’s office locations throughout the summer to allow them to learn the depth of the firm’s attorney roster and client matters.
Archer’s Chief Diversity Officer, Lloyd Freeman, said, “We are thrilled to welcome the next generation of legal leaders to our 2019 Summer Associate Program. We use this program to attract and retain the best and brightest legal talent to serve our clients, our community, and our profession. Having gone through the program myself, I know firsthand the real-life lawyering experience these students will receive over the next few weeks. I am proud that the firm continues to provide such an enriching opportunity to law students who bring diverse viewpoints and experiences to the firm.”
Throughout the nine-week program, students begin to discover what practice areas they enjoy most and what aligns best with their strengths and interests. During their work with a specific practice group, they will make a presentation on developments in the law to group members. Each Summer Associate gets paired with a full-time Associate who serves as a mentor, advising on research techniques, case preparation and other legal matters. The law students also accompany and observe Archer attorneys at proceedings such as real estate closings, mediations, depositions, hearings, trials and client meetings.
Through Archer’s Corporate Share Diversity program, many of this year’s Associates will have the opportunity to split the summer, working both at Archer and working for other companies, including the Hershey Company and Panasonic North America.
