Fox Rothschild LLP issued the following announcement on Aug. 22.

In recognition of their exemplary leadership and unwavering efforts to promote diversity in the legal industry, Julianna Theall Earp and Stephanie Resnick are among the law firm honorees for the 2019 Women, Influence & Power in Law Awards presented by Corporate Counsel and InsideCounsel.

Earp was selected as one of the "Managing Partners of the Year," and Resnick was honored with a "Lifetime Achievement Award."

These awards spotlight women in-house and law firm leaders who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and business acumen; who are business strategists, complex problem-solvers and great lawyers; and who are exemplary in their personal dedication to the promotion of diversity in the legal industry.

Earp, who serves as Managing Partner of three Fox offices in North Carolina and Georgia, is committed to helping women attorneys grow professionally and become strong advocates for their own legal skills. At Fox, she is a mentor to young attorneys and is involved with the firm’s Women’s Initiative, which aims to advance women attorneys within the firm and the legal community. In her prior role as the first female managing partner of Smith Moore Leatherwood – before its November 2018 combination with Fox – Earp chaired the firm’s Management Committee, which steered the operations and strategic direction of the firm. Under her stewardship, women held leadership roles in practice management and chaired a number of firm committees.

Recently named one of the Piedmont region’s Most Admired CEOs by the Triad Business Journal, Earp has joined a working group of other professional women who are planning to expand opportunities for women by encouraging them to apply for these honors. This year, the Mecklenberg Times in Charlotte named Earp among the region’s “50 Most Influential Women.” She earned her J.D., magna cum laude, and her B.B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Georgia.

Resnick is a nationally ranked litigator who for three decades has blazed a trail for women to take leadership roles in the law. She is Managing Partner of Fox’s Philadelphia office, a member of the Executive Committee and Chair of the Directors’ & Officers’ Liability and Corporate Governance practice group. She previously served for seven years as Chair of the firm’s nationwide Litigation Department and was among the first wave of women to reach the pinnacle of corporate litigation: lead attorney in bet-the-company matters for Fortune 500 clients. At the start of her career, Resnick was often the only woman at the table. But she started Fox’s Women’s Initiative and chaired the firm’s Partnership Advancement Committee and the percentage of women in firm leadership has grown through the path she pioneered.

She is also a champion for women in the profession outside of Fox and has dedicated her time to ensuring the integrity and independence of the courts and helping to shape the legal profession. She served as the Third Circuit representative on the ABA’s Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary, which vets federal court nominees, including U.S. Supreme Court justices. She has also been an advocate to increase opportunities for women lawyers through her work with the American and Philadelphia bar associations.

Resnick is recognized by Chambers USA and Benchmark Litigation and is a recipient of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Sandra Day O’Connor Award and The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Influencer of Law Award. She earned her J.D. from Villanova University and her A.B. from Kenyon College.
