South Carolina man allegedly injured by dropped motor assembly at well pad files lawsuit

PITTSBURGH – A South Carolina couple are seeking damages after the husband was injured by a dropped motor assembly at a well pad in Jefferson County.

Michael Wall and Amy Wall filed a complaint in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against Daniel Wiley, Baker Hughes Inc., XTO Energy Inc. and John Does 1-5 alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Michael Wall was employed by Baker Hughes and acting as a tool hand when he was injured at the XTO Winslow Pad in Jefferson County on Dec. 12, 2017. The suit states Wiley was attempting to lower a motor assembly into the ground when it dropped and struck the plaintiff's right arm.

The plaintiffs allege the incident was caused by the defendants' negligence.

The plaintiffs are seeking an amount of more than $35,000, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiffs are represented by Brandon Swartz of Swartz Culleton PC in Pittsburgh.
