JONES DAY: Jones Day leads Law360’s 2019 “Rising Stars” honor with 8 lawyers

Jones, Day issued the following announcement on Sept. 10.

The global law firm Jones Day is pleased to announce that eight of the Firm's lawyers are among Law360's "Rising Stars" for 2019. In addition to having more lawyers recognized than any other law firm, the Rising Stars are spread across seven offices, six practices, and eight Rising Star categories. The annual feature recognizes the profession's top legal talent under the age of 40. According to Law360, "Winners were selected based on their career accomplishments in their respective disciplines."

Mr. Chang represents institutional clients in an array of complex litigation matters, with an emphasis on cybersecurity, privacy, and consumer issues. He has served as lead counsel in hundreds of class and individual actions, complicated business disputes, and regulatory investigations, including bet-the-company class action, privacy and data breach matters for total claims exceeding $5 billion. Mr. Chang also advises clients on their most sensitive business and cybersecurity issues and helps lead Jones Day's cybersecurity practice in California.

Ms. Duffy represents corporations, directors, and officers in securities, shareholder, and derivative litigation. She concentrates on litigation arising from mergers and acquisitions and other significant corporate events, as well as on fiduciary, governance, and appraisal claims and statutory demands for corporate books and records. Her representative litigation success includes obtaining dismissals of securities class actions under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act (PSLRA) and of stockholder derivative and class actions in state and federal courts. Before joining Jones Day, Ms. Duffy served as a law clerk to the then-Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery. She also litigates consumer class actions involving RICO and other statutory claims.

Ms. Ellison focuses her practice on representing policyholders in pursuing insurance claims and litigation. She has been involved in complex insurance coverage claims relating to various types of coverage, including commercial general liability, errors and omissions, property, and directors and officers liability insurance. Mr. Fiorta is a dedicated trial lawyer who defends companies in complex product liability litigation. He has been part of more than 20 trial teams in cases tried to jury verdict in both state and federal courts, including most recently serving as trial counsel in a three-week jury trial that resulted in a complete defense verdict.

Ms. Li works closely with clients to successfully design, structure, and execute technology and commercial transactions to achieve high-stakes business objectives. She is an experienced intellectual property and technology lawyer whose practice focuses on commercial and licensing transactions for clients active in the technology, medical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, food and beverage, retail, consulting, financial, fashion, consumer goods, telecommunications, education, media, and entertainment fields. Ms. Li drafts and negotiates contracts involving collaborations and alliances, IP commercialization, outsourcing, distribution arrangements, infrastructure and telecommunications projects, and manufacturing and supply services. She also plays an integral role in transactions involving the acquisition or divestiture of or investment in companies with important technology or IP assets.

Mr. Love represents financial institutions and multinational corporations in a wide variety of complex regulatory, compliance, enforcement, and litigation matters. He concentrates his practice on the regulation of broker-dealers, investment advisers, and private investment funds (such as hedge, private equity, venture capital, and real estate funds). Mr. Love also focuses on the dynamic and evolving areas of fintech, blockchain, and digital currencies, including the legal and regulatory issues facing money services businesses, payment systems, and emerging payments companies. Before practicing law, Mr. Love served as a special assistant at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and worked for the U.S. House of Representatives in a number of positions, including as a senior legislative assistant for financial services.

Ms. McKinniss is a trial lawyer who defends companies in product liability lawsuits and complex civil litigation. Ms. McKinniss has tried cases in state and federal courts.

Ms. Snyder is a litigator who crafts creative and strategic responses for companies facing high-profile litigation, federal government and state attorneys general investigations, federal and state legislative investigations and hearings, and regulatory challenges. She uses her nearly decade-long experience as a litigator and her financial regulatory enforcement and compliance experience to counsel clients on avoiding litigation, developing legislative and other solutions to litigation, and responding to media inquiries. Ms. Snyder’s experience spans across a range of industries and includes representation of public and private companies in the technology, education, consumer products, financial products and services, and health care sectors.
