PITTSBURGH – A woman is suing the owners/operators of two separate boats after she was thrown into the air and injured when the boat she was on hit a wake.

Gina Gautieri filed a complaint Dec. 16 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Michael Fanto Jr., Brandon Taylor and Leanne Taylor alleging negligence.

The suit states Gautieri was riding on a boat on Sept. 2, 2017, owned and operated by Fanto near the Fox Chapel Yacht Club on the Allegheny River. Gautieri alleges in her complaint that the Taylors negligently created a large wake with their boat that Fanto negligently drove his boat into, causing her to be thrown into the air. Gautieri alleges she fell to the boat's floor and suffered injuries, including a fracture of her left distal fibula, knee sprain and deep vein thrombosis of the left leg.

The plaintiff alleges Fanto negligently operated the boat into the wake and the Taylors were negligent in causing their boat to create the large wake.

Gautieri seeks monetary and other just relief. She is represented by Carol Schiffman and Benjamin Wilt of The Schiffman Firm LLC in Pittsburgh.
